IQNA – A student of Al-Azhar Islamic University officially joined Egypt’s TV and Radio as its youngest qari.

Egyptian qari Abdul Razaq al-Shihawi

Abdul Razaq al-Shihawi is a qari who came third in Qatar’s Katara international Quran competition earlier this year.

He has also won the top rank in Egypt’s national Quran contest, according to Cairo24 website.

Al-Shihawi hailed the admission to the TV and Radio as an official qari, saying it was his dream since early childhood.

He thanked God for the success and appreciated his family, teachers and fans who have helped him on the path to this achievement.

Al-Shihawi is influenced in his recitation by such great qaris as Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad and Sheikh Khalil al-Husari.
